ROME (AP) -Italy forward Pablo Osvaldo has injured his right thigh in training with Roma and could be out long-term.

Roma says the Argentine-born striker left training early with a suspected muscle tear, adding that the injury will be examined over the next couple of days.

Having transferred from Espanyol in August, Osvaldo is Roma's leading scorer this season with seven goals in Serie A. He also made his Italy debut against Northern Ireland in October.

Osvaldo's injury comes days after Roma agreed to loan forward Marco Borriello to Juventus.

Roma's other forwards include captain Francesco Totti, Erik Lamela and Bojan Krkic.

Roma is tied for sixth place in Serie A with Napoli, 10 points behind leaders Juventus and AC Milan.
